Keely Jardell (Owner/Choreographer/Teacher) 
Mrs. Jardell is currently the owner of Keely Jardell’s School of Dance, which she has owned and operated for 28 years. Keely received her BS Degree in Dance and Special Education from Lamar University. Her choreography has received many Regional and National titles throughout the years. Keely’s dancers have been invited to perform all over the United States and in Spain. Her dance team performed at the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Her dance teams were named Grand Champions at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading Dance Competition. In 2000, her dancers were named Junior National Champions. Also in 2000, forty-two dancers traveled to Washington D.C. and New Your City, where they performed and took dance classes in New York City. The 2004 competition team traveled to New York City to compete with students from all over the United States, winning Most Entertaining and 2004 National Champions. The 2006 competition team won National Grand Champions in San Antonio. In the summer of 2007 the competition team was invited to compete and perform at Disney World. The 2008, 2009, and 2010, and 2011 Competition Team won National Grand Champions. In 2012, the team traveled and competed for Celebrity Dance aboard a cruise ship and took home another National Championship. 2014 was another successful year for KJSD when they took home the Production National Title. In 2016, The KJSD team traveled to Branson, MS, where they once again were named National Champions. KJSD was ranked #3 dance studio in the state of Texas by Dance Magazine. Many former students now are studio owners, choreographers, and have been dancing professionally around the United States. Keely is married to Bill Jardell and they have two beautiful children, Will, who is a graduate of Texas A&M University and recently named 1st Runner-up on America’s Next Top Model, lives and works in Los Angeles, CA; and, Mackenzie, a former Rangerette Officer, graduate of North Texas University, and presently a missionary with Focus, in Vermont. She would like to thank her family, staff, and friends for always supporting her love of Dance and for remembering “we are family”.

Kim Hawkins (Choreographer/Teacher) Mrs. Hawkins has been a teacher at Keely Jardell’s School of Dance (KJSD) for 18 years. She received a BS Degree in Education from Lamar University. Kim has choreographed many tap and clogging routines. Her choreography has been awarded many top Regional and National awards. Kim recently choreographed a clogging routine for KJSD Competition Team, which won 2006 National Champion in San Antonio. She brings her expertise to the stage in Whimsical. She performed with the team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. She is married to Reagan Hawkins and they have a beautiful daughter, Isabelle, and a precious son, Joseph. Kim is a kindergarten teacher at Langham Elementary in Nederland.

 

 

 

mpac 240_1Jessica Blanchard (Choreographer/Teacher) Mrs. Blanchard is a graduate of Lamar University with Bachelor’s degrees in both Marketing and Family Consumer Science. She is currently a Special Education teacher at Nederland Independent School District and a Dance Teacher/Choreographer at Keely Jardell’s School of Dance. Jessica has danced with KJSD for 23 years, in which 12 of those years she has taught dance to children ranging in ages from two to eighteen. Her subjects include Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. She danced competitively for ten years, and has choreographed for the KJSD Competition Team for 9 years. Her pieces have won both regional and national titles with several dance competition companies including Starbound, Starpower, Celebrity, and Hall of Fame to name a few. She has also won several top choreography titles. She was named the Create Choreographer for Celebrity’s National Competition in 2012. She entered her piece, “First Breath After a Coma,” into this choreography competition and won based on her concept and interpretation. Jessica also choreographs for drill teams, organizations, and individuals throughout Texas, including the Nederland Westernaire’s, Nederland Theatre Department, Bridge City Strutter’s and Cedar Park Celebrities. Her pieces have won National titles at drill team competitions, varying in entire team productions, ensembles, soloists, and duets Jessica has traveled throughout the United States to places such as New York City, Disneyland, Biloxi, and New Orleans to perform, compete, and further her dance education. Jessica has been an assistant director for Mid-County Performing Arts Company for nine years. She began her involvement with this company as a student where she held the role as the original Cat in the Hat for four years. Jessica is newly married to Mr. Tony Blanchard.

Alaina Cole (Choreographer/Teacher)
 Ms. Cole is a graduate of Nederland High School where she was the Captain of the Westernaires. She currently attends Lamar University where she is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering. This is her fourth year teaching at KJSD and was a student for 14 years. Last year she was awarded the Elite Dance Cup Choreography Award along with her co-choreographer Miss Shelby Rinehart. She was a member of MPAC for 9 years. Alaina played the roles of Queen Angel, Snow Queen and Gertrude. As a student, she received many awards from KJSD including Outstanding Student in 2003, Dance Achievement in 2008, Senior Scholarship in 2010, and MPAC Patsy Castille Smith Scholarship in 2012. She was a member of the KJSD Competition Team for 5 years during which she won many National and Regional titles for solo and team dances and was invited to perform in Disney World. While in Westernaires, she earned even more National Champion and Regional titles for solos, ensembles, officer and team dances. Alaina was selected to be a member of the All-State Dance/Drill Team in 2012 and now brings those dance and choreography skills to enhance the Whimsical Show.

Shelby Rinehart (Choreographer/Teacher)
 Ms. Rinehart is a graduate of Nederland High School where she was Student Body President and a Varsity Co-head Cheerleader. She is a graduate of Lamar University with a BS in Communications. She is currently a Marketing Representative for Southeast Texas Homecare. This is her 20th year with KJSD and 5th year teaching. She received a choreography award for her work with the Nederland Westernaires Officers and an Elite Dance Cup Choreography Award along with her co-choreographer Miss Alaina Cole. She was a student at KJSD for 15 years and a member of MPAC for 11 years. Shelby has played the roles of Smucky Lucky, JoJo, Snow Queen, Sour Kangaroo and Mayzie. As a student, she received the Outstanding Student Award in 2003, Dance Achievement Award in 2008, the Senior Scholarship in 2011, and MPAC Patsy Castille Smith Scholarship in 2012. Shelby was a member of the KJSD Competition Team for 5 years in which they won several National and Regional titles. Shelby has danced with the Competition Team in Disney World and on a cruise ship to Mexico. She has also received a scholarship to take dance classes in New York City.

Lauren Konjoyan (Choreographer/Teacher) Ms. Konjoyan is a graduate of Nederland High School where she was Student Body Secretary, TNT President, and a Varsity cheerleader. She is currently attending Lamar University, where she is a part of the Honors program and is pursuing a Major in Biology, with a Minor in Chemistry. After obtaining her degree at Lamar University, she plans on attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. This is her third year teaching at KJSD. She was a student at KJSD for 14 years and a member of MPAC for 12 years. Lauren has played the roles of Grinch, Little Cyndi Lou Who, Mayor’s Wife, JoJo, and King Louie.  As a student, she received the Outstanding Student Award in 2004, Dance Achievement Award in 2010, and the Patsy Castille Smith Scholarship in 2014. Lauren was also a member of the nationally ranked KJSD Competition team for 12 years where she won many Regional and National titles. She was also a part of the 2007 team that was invited to perform at Disney World.

Caitlin Davis (Choreographer/Teacher)
 Ms. Davis is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School where she was an Indianette officer. She is currently attending Lamar University where she is pursuing a degree in History and Dance. She was a student at KJSD for 13 years and a member of MPAC for 7 years. This is her second year teaching at KJSD. Caitlin was a member of the KJSD competition team for 4 years. During her years in MPAC she played the roles of Gertrude, Cat in the Hat, and Horton in A Whimsical Christmas. As a student, Caitlin received the Outstanding Student Award in 2008, the Outstanding Dance Achievement Award in 2010, the Patsy Smith Scholarship in 2012, and the Senior Scholarship Award in 2014.

Brooke Sonnier (
Choreographer/Teacher) Ms. Sonnier is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School where she was lieutenant of the PNG Indianettes during her 2014-2015 school year. She is currently attending Lamar Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in Radiology. This is her second year teaching at KJSD. She was a student for 7 years and a member of MPAC for 3 years. Brooke has played the roles of Court Reporter and Sour Kangaroo. As a student, she received the Outstanding Student award in 2009 and the Dance Achievement Award in 2010. Brooke was a member of the KJSD Competition Team for 5 years in which they won several National and Regional titles along with the winning title of 1st place in the senior solo/duet division at Nationals in 2012.

Marlee Garrison (Choreographer/Teacher)
Ms. Garrison is a graduate of Nederland High School where she was the Varsity Head Cheerleader and the Student Body Vice President. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Terrific Nederland Teens. Marlee was a 3 year UCA All American Cheerleader and she was invited to be on the UCA Staff after graduation. Marlee was awarded several College Scholarships and awarded the title of Miss NHS 2016. She was chosen to be a member of the Youth Leadership of Southeast Texas. Marlee is the reigning Miss Nederland 2016 and the Miss Nederland Talent Winner. She attends St. Charles Catholic Church where she was involved with the confirmation retreat team for 2 years, an Altar Server for 3 years and a Master of Ceremonies of 3 years. Marlee was a member of MPAC for 8 years. She has played the role of Horton, Gertrude, and Thing 1. She has been dancing at KJSD for 8 years and was enrolled in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and competition team. As a dance student at KJSD, Marlee received the Outstanding Dancer Award and the Dance Achievement Award. She was a member of the KJSD Competition Team for 6 years. Marlee is 18 years old and attends Lamar University for Marketing.
